All I Want For Christmas
Think Santa can bring it??
Hi, friends! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Christmas is just over a month away. My kids have been making their lists for Santa, and we’ve put up cute little decorations all over the house.
I’m not really a wishlist maker, because there’s not usually anything I really, really want. I think it makes me low maintenance, but my husband says it makes shopping for me a nightmare. Whichever way you slice it, there’s nothing I’m dying to have waiting for me under the tree.
Well, there is one thing I really want for Christmas, but it can’t be bought in a store.
As you may know, I recently finished writing a new novel, Game Set Love. What you probably don’t know is that I sent out query letters for this book to a bunch of literary agents. My dream has always been to be traditionally published, so I decided to put some feelers out there to agents before self-publishing again.
I never thought I would self-publish my books, but after doing it a few times, it’s actually really fun. I enjoy bringing my own books to life, and it’s definitely an adventure. So if I end up taking that road again, I’ll still be just as excited. But I just can’t shake the calling I feel in my heart toward traditional publishing. I feel God wants me to pursue it, but I just haven’t found the right open doors yet.
His timing is best, and I’ll gladly go wherever He leads. Maybe Game Set Love will be published traditionally, or maybe I’ll publish it myself. Either way, I can’t wait to share Liam and Eliana’s story with you all. It’s my favorite one yet, and I think you’ll love it too.
So what do I want for Christmas? Well, a “yes” from a literary agent would be nice. But mostly, I just want God to use the story He’s given me in whatever way He sees fit. He’s the One who gave me the love of writing, and He’s the One I do it for.
And in case I haven’t told you lately, I’m thankful for every single person reading this. Thank you for the time you give to my words. You are a wonderful gift.
Wishing you a blessed holiday season,
Kaelin
